Tony Lambert, M.A.

Tony’s long history in the independent school world has both kept him young and given him the wisdom of someone who’s been at his work a long time. Having traveled and studied extensively in Spain, Mexico, Ecuador and Guatemala, Tony brought his cultural and language learning to his passion for teaching. He loved his “triple threat” roles of teaching Spanish, coaching football, basketball and softball, and living in or running dormitories at Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey, The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, and The Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. He added administrative roles to his “triple threat” role, including chairing the World Languages Department at Perkiomen and moving into college counseling work at Montclair Kimberley Academy in Montclair, New Jersey, where he was the athletic liaison for student-athletes looking to compete at the collegiate level. At The Perkiomen School and later at The Winchendon School’s Winchendon, Massachusetts and New York City campuses, Tony ultimately served as the Director of College Counseling, overseeing college counseling associates, ushering countless students and families through the process, and cultivating relationships with college admissions professionals.

Tony is a graduate of Davidson College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. He completed his master’s degree in Spanish at Middlebury College. He continues to travel whenever he can and loves the international aspects of his work here at McMillan Education.

Tony is a native of Ohio. He and his wife Laurie, also an educator, live on The Winchendon School campus with their enormous dogs Titan and JoJo and their less enormous cats Bran and Brie. They are parents to two young adults who share their parents’ passion for other cultures. When Tony isn’t being walked by his dogs, working or traveling, he is likely cycling or running — he hasn’t met an endurance sport he doesn’t like — or playing music. He’s also an avid sports fan and concert-goer.
