Jeanne Deschambeault, M.Ed

Professional Outreach Specialist and Executive Assistant

Jeanne (pronounced Jahn) is the first point of contact for most of our McMillan Education families. As our Professional Outreach Specialist, Jeanne brings her extensive experience as an educator, her training in child, adolescent, and young adult development, and her knowledge of admissions to her work with families. Jeanne is dedicated to learning about students’ goals and needs so that she can best help families understand how our wide variety of educational planning services may assist them. Among the countless other tasks she performs for McMillan Education, Jeanne interfaces with the over 130 schools we work with annually. Everyone lucky enough to run across Jeanne deeply appreciates her authentic warmth, genuine student-focused mindset, and kind and compassionate professionalism.

Jeanne is a native of the North Conway, New Hampshire area, where her family still resides (and breeds border collies, so Jeanne is a perfect fit for our McMillan Education dog culture!). Jeanne attended the University of Maine at Orono where she earned her undergraduate degree in English Literature. She then moved abroad to pursue her master’s degree in education at Middlesex University in London. She remained in London for a few years following the completion of her degree to teach English at Mount Carmel Catholic College for Girls. When Jeanne returned to the U.S., she worked in the addiction recovery industry in Portland, Maine. There she served as a client service professional, client database manager, auditor, and client and industry liaison communications officer. Jeanne has also taught at Yarmouth High School, in Yarmouth, Maine, and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Dover, New Hampshire. Before joining McMillan Education, Jeanne taught English at Sanford High School in Sanford, Maine. Jeanne loves her role at McMillan Education because it combines her passion for client service work with her extensive background in education.

Jeanne lives in Saco, Maine. You might bump into her on the Amtrak Downeaster on her way to our Boston office or at the local bagel shop across from our York, Maine office. When not helping families, Jeanne loves to read, spend time with her pets, and practice her skills as a baker.
